About the Conference

Co-hosted by the Alumnae Association, the Office of Development and the Office of Admission, this conference is a valuable opportunity for alum volunteers to come together to gain the education and information necessary to succeed in their roles. Volunteers will also gain timely insight into the current environment on campus and have opportunities to collaborate with other volunteers. This conference will take place virtually. In addition to live components, pre-recorded sessions will be available to help bring you all of the information you need. All alum volunteers are invited to attend.

Conference Programming

1 p.m. Welcome from Alumnae Association President
Hear from Alumnae Association President Ellen Hyde Pace ’81 as she welcomes volunteers. 

1:20 p.m. Town Hall Discussion with President Stephens
Mount Holyoke College President Sonya Stephens and her leadership team will host a town hall discussion moderated by Liz Lierman, interim executive director of the Alumnae Association and executive director, career development center.

2:45 p.m. Cultivating Inclusive and Affirming Spaces for Alums
The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion will lead a deep dive discussion on the importance of cultivating inclusive and affirming spaces for alums. The discussion will include practical skills on challenging implicit and explicit bias around race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation and other forms of identity.

4. Q&A on Academic Programming and Faculty with Dorothy Mosby, interim dean of faculty and vice president for academic affairs

4:20 p.m. Student Panel
Hear from students about what returning to campus is like in fall 2021. Moderated by Alicia Erwin, assistant vice president for student life, strategic operations.

5 p.m. Closing Remarks
Closing session by Liz Lierman, interim executive director of the Alumnae Association, and Stacey Lyons, associate vice president for College Relations.
