A candid series of dialogues on issues that range from the College’s commitment to affirming the gender diversity of students and strategies for battling racism and xenophobia during the global pandemic of Covid-19 with President Sonya Stephens and Vice President for Equity and Inclusion/Chief Diversity Officer, Kijua Sanders-McMurtry.
“Liberation in the Time of a Global Pandemic” with Tourmaline
Tourmaline, an activist and filmmaker shares a message of liberation rooted in deep traditions of culture, community and organizing that will inspire anyone living in the time of this global pandemic. Her films focused on the histories and legacies of trans and gender non conforming people are available for all Mount Holyoke members to view and her talk is one rooted in collective strategies for freedom and liberation.
Trans (Gender) 101
This important training is focused on learning about gender diversity and allows each person to develop a better understanding of strategic and supportive practices for trans and gender non conforming (TGNC) people in higher education. This training is designed to be an entry level session for individuals who may need to have a better grasp of concepts around gender with a specific emphasis on inclusion as it relates to TGNC community members on campus. This workshop is facilitated by Dr. T.J. Jourian of TransFormational Change, LLC.
