La Unidad

La Unidad is a brave-space for Latinx students where we are able to embrace and celebrate Latinx culture. Members of La Unidad want to provide Latinx students an opportunity to develop the support systems necessary for a successful college experience. Being a minority on campus, we want to solidify the relationship amongst our Latinx peers in order to provide a stronger sense of community within our institution. We do this by: Creating brave spaces to combat stereotypes that are perpetuated in everyday society and to unite all the students who identify as Latinx.Hosting different bonding events where we are able to establish relationships and to enhance our Latinx identity with our fellow Latinx students.Promoting our culture and traditions while serving our local and global communities in areas such as Holyoke and Springfield.Bringing awareness to campus about what is going on in the Latinx community currently through hosting events, such as Noche Latina.Providing a space for our peers, who identify as Latinx to have a voice on campus through sharing their ideas, opinions, and concerns about topics that are important to them.Un pueblo que se identifica en su cultura, es un pueblo que invencible.
